....ho deciso di non installare il classico Ubuntu del quale io sono un fan accanito ma una sua derivata ovvero Xubuntu..

What is Xubuntu?

Xubuntu is a community-developed, GNU/Linux-based, Free/Open Source operating system for personal computers. It is built on a core of the popular Ubuntu operating system and uses the Xfce Desktop Environment.

• Xubuntu is released regularly and predictably with security in mind. A new release is made every six months. You can use the current stable release or the current development release. Each standard release is supported for at least 18 months, with the Long Term Support (LTS) release offering three years of support
• Xubuntu is entirely committed to the principles of open source software development; we encourage people to use open source software, improve it and pass it on.

è una delle tante distro derivate da ubuntu. Questa è più leggera

Ho sempre usato come distribuzione principale Linux Ubuntu, ma i tecnici della Canonical
per quello che hanno combinato con le ultime versioni sono da rincorrere con un randello.....
Alla fine dello scorso hanno sono passato a Linux Mint, non penso di essere un caso isolato
visto che nella classifica delle distribuzioni Linux più installate Mint è passata al primo posto.

ai miei tempi c'erano debian, slackware, redhat, mandrake, suse e gentoo. Ammetto di non seguire più quel mondo da anni però...
