Ryanair today welcomed Easyjet’s announcement that the introduction of hedging would be the latest effort by Easyjet to try to dismantle its “high fares model” . Easyjet have for many years claimed that “hedging doesn’t matter” while they continue to charge passengers air fares that are 70% higher than Ryanair’s and most recently announced £50m losses despite these substantially higher fares.

Welcoming this latest admission by Easyjet, that it can’t match Ryanair’s prices or Ryanair’s business model, Ryanair’s Chief Financial Officer, Howard Millar said;

“If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we are pleased to receive this latest compliment from Easyjet. However given that Easyjet’s fares are 70% higher than Ryanair’s, Easyjet obviously still have a long way to go. So here’s a couple of “easy hints” for Easyjet as they try to copy the Ryanair model for really low fares.

Fly to uncongested, efficient airports, not high cost slot restricted ones.
Fly only Boeing 737’s, cancel the order for Airbus’s, a mixed fleet won’t work.
Offer the lowest fares in every market (sorry - only Ryanair do that).
Have the lowest costs in every market (sorry - only Ryanair do that).
Offer the No.1 customer service delivery (sorry - only Ryanair do that) Easyjet’s punctuality is miles behind Ryanair’s
“Nevertheless Easyjet should keep trying, because God loves a tryer, but passengers prefer Ryanair.”

Diciamo ke un po' arroganti lo sono, anzi, x la voce relativa agli Airbus potrebbero riskiare d nn avermi come passeggero x decine di anni, cmq sia, sono divertenti!!!

D sicuro alla Easyjet sono + politically correct e a mio giudizio molto meno esaltati.

Io credo che la Southwest deve insegnare alla Volareweb...
Perche l'americana dice 'che si deve volare molte volte al giorno a tutte le destinazioni.'

Per ezempio... se io voglio andare un fine di setimana a londra... solo poso sceliere vuolo A o B di Vweb... pero se scelgo FR, ho molte piu options (opzioni?).

Come puoi la volareweb fare UNA volta alla SETIMANA a Lampedusa... soltanto puoi andare piu di una setimana di vacanze... beh..

FAILING EASYJET HAS TO ADVERTISE FOR AIRPORTS!

Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 low fares airline, today (13 June03) told Easyjet, that it only has to look at www.ryanair.com if it wants to know where the best low cost airports are in Scandinavia.

Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Paul Fitzsimmons said:

“Easyjet don’t seem to know the locations of low cost airports across Scandinavia, so rather than waste millions of Euro advertising, they can find them for free at www.ryanair.com.

For years Easyjet has being trying unsuccessfully to get slots at high cost airports, and charging high fares. Now they are losing money, so they are looking for low cost airports. Trying to copy Ryanair is becoming a habit with Easyjet, as they also recently announced fuel hedging for the first time – just like Ryanair.

Over 40 airports are looking for Ryanair – Easyjet have to advertise for them. Airports know which airline delivers No.1 passenger numbers, No.1 low fares, No.1 punctuality, No.1 Customer Service, and No.1 route network – and that’s Ryanair, not Easyjet.”
