It's absolutely a great airport. Ground staff is very professional, there are good facilities, nice shops, nice lounges. Everything of what every passenger would have in an airport.

The Italians are sometime unsurpassable. I flew 10 days ago from Mexico City to Venice via JFK. I was more than surprise to see a such great airport. I totally agree with the comments I read on this forum. The architecture is impressive and very elegant and the planes on time. I would fly again to Marco Polo airport.

For a new years eve break we flew to Venice Marco Polo airport with British Airways from London Gatwick. After having a very enjoyable flight we were even more impressed to have such an attractive terminal building. it is very clean and everyone is very helpful. It is good to have such a lovely airport for a fantastic city of Venice.

It's simply great. Very modern, clean and efficient. I was really impressed. It's really beautiful to sit at the gates and look from the big windows the beauties of the Lagoon. There are very nice shops, good restaurants and the staff is very friendly. There are 2 big lounges, one for Alitalia and its Skyteam partners, and one for the other airlines.

I flew to Venice from Copenhagen yesterday, the new Terminal is extremely modern and nice, and the technology they use is very advanced. The style is very elegant, typical Italian, the flights are on time and the service inside is excellent. Surely it's one of the best airport in Europe, and also their domestic, European and intercontinental flights will give to this airport a good future. It's really much better than Milan/Malpensa. When the new railway and subway station will be ready under the terminal it will be perfect.

The new terminal is now open and is very nice and clean. Facilities are good and what we liked the most was the general attitude of the staff. I think this has been boosted by the move into the new building. The lounge we found very nice with a rooftop viewing terrace, which my kids thought was great. The escalators are very steep and my 3 year old fell back on them. The staff were very attentive and could not do enough to make sure we were all OK.

Ho visto nel sito dil aeroporto VCE la nuova terminale . Mi sembra di una qualita superiore a altri aeroporti nel mondo. E un esempio di le buone cose che facciano l'italiani (un altro.. le ferrari.. ... a cualcuno le piace la f1?)

Adesso voglio andare a visitare di nuovo Venezia (e tutta italia ), e anche cosi faciamo una birrata alla cita dil veneto (vero AZ777? )

purtroppo manca la terrazza panoramica per i non viaggiatori (ammetto che gli spotter si contano sulla dita di una mano e quindi nessuno ci ha pensato), mentre quella dalla lounge è ottima e l'altra è chiusa. Dalla sala partenza però c'è una bella vista.Davvero un ottimo aeroporto!

E' il frutto dell'abilità imprenditoriale del nord est Scherzo, comunque la Regione Veneto ed il Presidente Galan lo hanno fortemente voluto. Il merito va anche al Presidente di SAVE Enrico Marchi che è un grande manager. Adesso vedrete che figata sarà anche il nuovo aeroporto di Venezia/San Giuseppe. Ho già visto i progetti. Una figata.

PARIS, May 22 (Reuters) - French airline Air France AIRF.PA said on Thursday a merger with Italian carrier Alitalia AZPIa.MI was a long-term goal but it was unlikely for at least three to five years and there were no current talks.

Air France Chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta also told a news conference Dutch airline KLM KLM.AS would decide about joining its SkyTeam alliance of international airlines in the coming weeks or months, and that SkyTeam also would study a common purchasing agreement.

State-controlled Air France and Alitalia are part of SkyTeam, along with Aeromexico, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines DAL.N and Korean Air 03490.KS . Alliances enable airlines to extend their reach by linking networks and combining marketing efforts to boost traffic and cut costs.

KLM is deciding whether to join the SkyTeam alliance led by Air France and Delta or the rival OneWorld alliance led by British Airways BAY.L and AMR Corp's AMR.M American Airlines. KLM said on Thursday it was in talks with both carriers but a decision was not imminent.

As for Alitalia, Air France Chief Operating Officer Pierre-Henri Gourgeon told reporters at a SkyTeam conference there were no talks in the works, though the idea of a deal was broached when the companies agreed to take stakes in each other.

There was "nothing real behind that for the moment," Gourgeon told reporters. Gourgeon said any full merger would not happen for at least three to five years.

Air France and Alitalia hold two percent stakes in each other in a deal sealed earlier this year, while Alitalia's chief executive said on May 16 some sort of merger was essential to the Italian carrier's survival.

Asked about future ties between the airlines, Air France's Spinetta said on Thursday: "It is an objective which apart from our two percent cross-shareholdings has not been realised yet."

The comments came at a news conference where SkyTeam announced a strengthening of transatlantic cooperation. The members said the reinforced ties would generate $100 million per year for the next three years in additional revenue for the European and U.S. members of the alliance.

Venezia adesso è veramente un Aeroporto con la A maiuscola, e finalmente un aeroporto di cui essere orgogliosi
Ho avuto modo di usarlo parecchie volte da quando ha aperto il nuovo terminal ed è veramente un salto di anni luce rispetto alla vecchia baracca. Design bellissimo, tanto vetro (i ponti e i loading bridge sono spettacolari), bei negozi, e ancora più stupefacente - il personale di terra è gentile e competente (certo le eccezioni ci sono ancora, ma rispetto a un tempo...)!

Quello che mi piace di più di tutto ciò è il fatto che pur non essendo di dimensioni smisurate, dà comunque l'impressione di essere in un grande aeroporto.
Un bel 10 e lode al nostro Marco Polo!
