Three loud explosions rocked Riyadh including a diplomatic housing compound late Saturday and as many as 28 people have been killed and 100 wounded.
Bombers attacked one compound housing foreigners in the strike on Sunday, killing at least two people a day after Washington warned of terrorist raids and shut its missions in Saudi Arabia.
Two cars drove into the Muhaya residential compound in west Riyadh and exploded inside.
"I can see one of the cars which is completely destroyed and I can see human remains," said the Reuters reporter, who was allowed to enter the compound. "We don't know how many terrorists were in the cars."
Television footage showed extensive damage, with houses flattened, cars burned out and rescue workers searching rubble where some children's toys were strewn. Cranes lifted huge pieces of concrete under floodlights.
