Ieri passeggiavo per Brescia e vedo questa notizia su un monitor di una banca.

Poi, non ne ho davvero + sentito nulla.

1 - Trovo SCANDALOSO che venga data una notizia del genere. Come se i "personaggi" in questione potessero esprimere un'opinione sull'argomento.

2 - Troverei scandaloso il fatto che gli Europei si curassero di questa cosa.

L'Unione Europea è nostra e NESSUNO deve mettere bocca sui nostri affari interni.

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - US Secretary of State Colin Powell has reiterated his opposition to any EU defence plans that duplicate NATO.

During a ministerial meeting, he told his NATO counterparts in Brussels yesterday (4 December) that the US "cannot accept independent EU structures that duplicate existing NATO capabilities".

He was referring to the European initiative supported by France, Germany and the UK to create a separate but smaller planning cell and European Headquarters away from NATO.

An the same time, the Secretary of State, who also asked NATO to get involved in Iraq to support Polish troops there, said he was confident that such duplication will not exist.

The US stance was backed by the outgoing Secretary General of NATO George Robertson who also believes that the results of the discussion in the EU concerning European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) will be non duplicative, as "any other outcome would be senseless for both organisations and the member states".

Mr Powell also pointed out that the EU could benefit from the so-called 'Berlin plus' that provides planning capabilities for European defence from NATO.

Berlin Plus arrangements "should be the rule, not the exception for EU missions", he said.
