The ATR Assembly of Members appointed Filippo Bagnato (56) as Chief Executive Officer of ATR from 1st of June 2004. Filippo Bagnato succeeds Jean-Michel Léonard whose 3-year mandate expired at the end of May 2004.
Jean-Michel Léonard takes the Chair of the ATR Board of directors.
Filippo Bagnato achieved his Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering Degrees at the Politecnico of Turin and began his career at Aeritalia in 1973. After two years in the States, at Boeing’s facilities, he was the Assistant to the Industrial Engineering Director and then he became Director of Program Planning and Control of Aeritalia’s plants in Turin. In 1981, Mr Bagnato was Head of Aeritalia’s Space Facility.
In 1987, Filippo Bagnato was appointed Director for Programs of the Military Aircraft Division of Aeritalia before he was asked to head the new Military Aircraft Division of Alenia, until 1994. Then he was appointed Senior Vice President of Alenia’s Technology Development Activities and of New Programs before he became Head of Alenia’s Aeronautics Division, in 1996.
Later he became Chief Operating Officer of Alenia Aeronautica Company.
Since September 2002, Filippo Bagnato was Chief Executive Officer of Eurofighter GmbH.
The Board of directors and the Assembly of Members of ATR expressed their appreciation of Jean-Michel Léonard’s contribution to the success of the ATR programme.
The new ATR Board of directors also held its first meeting on 1st June in order to appoint the ATR management team. Have been appointed:
- Senior Vice President Commercial: John Moore
- Senior Vice President Customer Services: Roberto Bellino
- Senior Vice President Finance: Serge Queille
- Senior Vice President Operations: Luigi Lombardi
