A plane headed from Chicago to Denver made an emergency landing in Lincoln on Sunday night after a pilot appeared to have suffered a heart attack.

A co-pilot safely landed the ATA Airlines Boeing 737 about 100 p.m. at the Lincoln Airport, said John Wood, executive director of the airport authority.

The pilot was in stable condition and undergoing tests at a Lincoln hospital, Wood said.

Passenger Tom Mahowald of Boulder, Colo., said the plane suddenly rocked over Iowa.
