A LIFE OR DEATH DECISION

The parents of 11-month-old Charlotte Wyatt are hoping a High Court judge will rule that doctors must not let her die.

Charlotte was born three months premature, weighing one pound and measuring just five inches.


She has stopped breathing three times and doctors have asked the court for an order allowing them not to ventilate her again if she has life-threatening breathing difficulties.

Resuscitating Charlotte again would lead to further damage to her lungs and cause her further suffering, argues the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

Charlotte's father Darren Wyatt, 33, made an impassioned plea to the judge, Mr Justice Hedley.

"When you get to the stage when you grow to love someone, you can't just throw them away like a bad egg and say you will get a different egg," he said.

He and his wife Debbie, 23, said everything possible should be done for their baby, even though she would be disabled if she survived.

Charlotte is fed through a tube because she cannot suck from a bottle and needs a constant supply of oxygen.

Paediatricians claim she will not survive beyond infancy and even then would never leave hospital because of the terrible problems she faces.

già, povera piccola Charlotte.. è arrivata ad avere 11 mesi nonostante fosse nata davvero piccola piccola piccola e ora proprio i medici vorrebbero lasciarla morire.. non abbiamo proprio più speranza, Bell???

spero che quella piccola stellina ce la faccia, che possa continuare a lottare e a vivere!!!

Per i governanti illuministi che difendono i "diritti" abortivi quell'esserino indifeso è poco più che una larva.

GB: IL TRIBUNALE, L'OSPEDALE PUO' LASCIAR MORIRE CHARLOTTE

LONDRA - L'alta corte britannica ha stabilito che i medici ospedalieri possono rifiutarsi di rianimare una bambina nata prematura e con gravissime deficienze, se dovesse avere una nuova crisi in cui si fermi il cuore o smetta di respirare.

Charlotte - cosi' si chiama la bambina - ora ha 11 mesi: era nata prematura di tre mesi e alla nascita era lunga soltanto dieci centimetri. Ora ne misura 53 e pesa 5,6 chili, ma il suo cervello ha smesso di crescere, ha problemi di cuore, reni e polmoni e ha gia' avuto quattro arresti cardiaci.

I genitori della piccola si sono battuti contro i medici del St Mary's Hospital di Portsmouth, dove e' ricoverata la piccola, che hanno sempre sostenuto che Charlotte ''non ha altre sensazioni a parte quella di dolore permanente''.

I genitori, invece, hanno fermamente creduto che se la loro figlia era riuscita a sopravvivere fino ad ora, esistevano possibilita' di miglioramento e erano disposti a fare di tutto per mantenerla in vita.
