"The former USSR was such a huge contry with so many airports that was impossible to improve them all.The solution found was to make stronger airplanes that cold land on the very bad runways. They are so strong that last year at Faro(FAO/LPFR) a Tupolev 154 had such a late rotation that it cliped some tree tops almost hiting a car on the road below and dameged the ILS an some lights at the end of rw 28!It was the hotest day of the year.the pilot just said to the ATC "too heavy, too hot). The airplane didn´t had any damage at all,if it was a Airbus or a Boeing problably it wold lose of a landing gear wen it hit the trees!
