Insurgents still a problem in Fallujah
Associated Press
FALLUJAH, November 30, 2004 - Two weeks after Americans recaptured the city, Marine officers say insurgents are still mounting daily attacks against Marines and Iraqi troops. They're emerging from homes, tunnels and spider holes.
One Marine was killed and three were injured yesterday in an attack from a house that Marines thought had been cleared.
Marine officials say the insurgents are hoping to disrupt nationwide elections set for January 30th by establishing what they call "psychological dominance" over the population.
Officials say it's impossible for the Marines to maintain an airtight cordon around Fallujah.
