Emergency landing in Athens for Air France flight
An Air France Airbus 320 bound for Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Athens after a technical problem with one of its engines, the Greek airport authority said Monday.
The plane landed without incident in Athens at 2.51 pm (1251 GMT) and the141 passengers and six crew members were fine, an airport spokesman said.
"There was a problem with the oil intake in one of the engines and the pilot decided to cut off the engine and to land at the first available airport, which was Athens," Claude Maire, an Air France representative in Greece, said.
"We are dealing with the problem and will take off as soon as it is fixed," Maire added.
