Aer Lingus further expands its European network with the announcement of five new routes from Dublin and Cork

- 15 new routes introduced by Aer Lingus so far in 2005 -


Aer Lingus the "Low Fares, Way Better" airline today has announced a further expansion of its European route network with the introduction of five new routes from Dublin and Cork which will be included in its winter schedule from the end of September. This expansion brings to fifteen the number of new routes already introduced in 2005, and supports the airline's growing European operation into and out of Ireland.

The new routes include direct services from Dublin to Fuerteventura, Bordeaux, Riga, Salzburg and a new direct service from Cork to Warsaw. The Warsaw service is Cork's first direct service to Poland. Today's expansion follows on from the announcement by the airline last month of two new routes from Dublin to Krakow in Poland and Almeria in Spain which will commence from the end of October.

Announcing the development, Chief Operating Officer, Niall Walsh, said, "The addition of these new routes reaffirms Aer Lingus' commitment to providing direct, low fares access for Irish customers to exciting new destinations which will satisfy both the business and leisure traveller, as well as providing real growth opportunities in inbound tourism from emerging markets. With new routes, a new short-haul fleet and greater efficiencies of operation we have more than doubled our network in less than four years.

Customer response and bookings on all our routes this year are extremely strong and I am confident these new destinations will be equally successful," Mr Walsh concluded.

Lavoratori polacchi nei call-centers o in aziende informatiche, turisti irlandesi per i city-breaks o compratori di immobili/seconde case.

Mi fa ridere la DUB-Fuerteventura .. EI si da anche ai charter ora ? Mah.. probabilmente sono in crisi di identità. Full-cost, low-cost o charter ? E chi lo saprà mai !!

Credo che siano di linea i DUB-Fuerteventura. Inoltre hanno già voli di linea un pò ovunque sulla costa spagnola .... e anche se le Canarie sono un pò più lontane credo abbiano lo stesso tipo di utenza e dunque lo stesso tipo di utilizzo (tra l'altro già volano a Gran Canaria , Lanzarote e Tenerife...di "grosso" alle Canarie mancava solo Fuerte)
Del resto si sa che il mercato dal N.Europa e specialmente da Irlanda e UK verso la Spagna (mare) è sempre molto consistente. E infatti anche BA (by GT) vola di linea da Londra , Manchester...etc alle Canarie. Se non ci fosse mercato questi voli non ci sarebbero (in Italia non c'è suff mercato soprattutto d'inverno e nei mesi estivi vengono relegati quasi in esclusiva alle compagnie charter).

Cmq al di là di questo , avevo anche letto di recente di una possibile espansione di EI nel settore longhaul sul N.America. Vedremo....

Quelli tra l'Irlanda e le Canarie non sono altro che voli di linea charterizzati. La differenza col charter è che qui vendono venduti al pubblico dei buoni quantitativi di posti in formula "self" ovvero, del solo volo.. i rimanenti posti sono in allottment ai t.o. .. ci scommetto che JWT Holidays e Falcon sono già in trattative per alcuni posti.

forse gli unici sarebbero i 735 ma cmq la DUB-FLR è bella lunga , credo più della FLR-CPH.

Non so se a pieno carico riuscirebbero a operare senza problemi a FLR.
