Russians Mourn on Anniversary of Beslan Massacre

One year has passed since Islamists seized Russian school; hostage scene ended with 344 civilians killed, 186 of whom were children
ON September 1, the people of Russia will observe the one-year anniversary of the Beslan massacre, when Islamist terrorists seized a school in the North Ossetia region.
An estimated 172 child hostages died in efforts to retake the building, out of a total of 344 civilian deaths. The terrorists were demanding Russian withdrawal from Chechnya, a goal which 'Western' neo-cons support. .
Russia has historically protected Europe from Islam, a threat which is at an unprecedented height today.
President Vladimir Putin has decreed an official three days of mourning.
