Piu' che altro e' una patch che rende il kernel fully preemptable, ma e' sempre il solito kernel monolitico di Linux... Non hanno certo usato un microkernel altrimenti non sarebbe Linux... Il che' prova oltre ogni dubbio che kernel monolitici funzionano bene ANCHE per il real-time.
