Iran says Tehran-Madrid flights to re-open soon
Iran-Spain-Flights.
Direct flights between Tehran and Madrid will resume in the near future, an official with the national carrier, Iran Air, said here Monday.
Tehran-Madrid direct flights were suspended last year as the route was not financially profitable and the number of planes was insufficient.
Tehran-Madrid flights will be re-opened with direct charter flight services that will later be converted into regular weekly flights, Iran Air Planning Mananger Mehdi Mehryar Alviri added.
He noted that Iran and Spain have devised a joint plan to facilitate visa issuances for tourists timed with the reopening of direct flights between Iran and Spain.
Alviri was in Madrid to attend the Madrid International Tourist Trade Fair (FITUR) which ended Sunday.
