Secondo quanto riporta il sito del BNP, la polizia svedese avrebbe evacuato un treno su cui viaggiava Griffin con la moglie a causa di un avviso minaccioso contro lo stesso Griffin. La pista più probabile è l'estremismo di sinistra, ma non si esclude quello islamico.

18:00hrs Breaking news – an attempt by Swedish Communists to murder BNP Chairman, Nick Griffin and his wife has been foiled by Swedish police.

A delegation of BNP officials travelled over to Stockholm to help launch the campaign of the National Democratic Party which is contesting the national parliamentary (Riksdag) elections due to take place in September. Nick Griffin was accompanied by his wife Jackie, Sadie Graham the BNP Group Development Officer and Martin Reynolds to look after their personal security.

The delegation along with several Swedish hosts boarded a commuter train in the capital Stockholm on Saturday afternoon as they travelled away from the election launch venue.

Details are admittedly vague but it is believed that a tip off was made to a Stockholm radio station who alerted Police, who in turn stopped and evacuated the train.

Swedish Police have not yet provided any details of which, if any, group who has claimed responsibility and while, given the amateur nature of the device it is likely Far Left extremists are the most likely suspects, any link to Islamic fundamentalists has not been ruled out.

Aggiornamento: non si sarebbe trattato di semplici minacce, ma di una bomba vera e propria, piazzata sul treno su cui si pensava avrebbero viaggiato Nick Griffin e altri del BNP, assieme ad esponenti dell'ND, il partito nazional-democratico svedese ostile agli immigrati, alla globalizzazione e alle istituzioni dell'Unione Europea.

In response to some mutterings from incurable sceptics we can confirm that the story about a bomb plot to kill Nick Griffin was not an April Fools story but a genuine report of a very sinister incident.

The bomb was left on a train which those who planted it believed would be used by the BNP delegation and their Swedish hosts of the National Democrats (Nationaldemokraterna) while travelling to the venue being used for the launch of the ND’s election campaign.

The device contained dynamite, was packed with ball bearings and designed to be remotely detonated. It could have killed scores of people and injured many more if the device had been successfully detonated. As events unfolded members of the BNP delegation were never on that train and made their way to the venue by alternative means and at no time was any member of the BNP delegation in any imminent danger. It is possibly for this reason, or possibly because a large and highly visible police presence on the Stockholm train network that those responsible failed to detonate the device.

Dangerous device

Both the ND leadership and the local police are working on the assumption that the device was planted by hostile left wing extremists who oppose the ND’s platform of patriotism, withdrawal from the EU and of restoring sovereignty to national Swedish institutions.

The young dynamic leadership of the ND are very much on the same political wavelength as the British National Party and as the consequences of globalisation and Islamification manifest themselves in Sweden the ND have a very real opportunity to win additional seats and add to their tally of two seats in municipal councils.
