Singapore Airlines To Fly To Milan And Barcelona
02 May 2006
Two of southern Europe’s style and fashion capitals are about to join the Singapore Airlines network, with the commencement of a three-times-weekly service to Milan and Barcelona from 19 July 2006.
Flights will be operated using a Boeing 777-200ER (Extended Range) aircraft, departing Singapore on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with next-day return flights. (Please refer to note below for full flight schedule.)
Singapore Airlines will be the only airline to fly between Singapore and both these Mediterranean cities.

Singapore Airlines Executive Vice President Marketing and Regions, Mr Huang Cheng Eng, said the flights expand the Airline’s presence in the Mediterranean, supplementing current services to Rome and Athens.
“Both Milan and Barcelona are highly cosmopolitan cities, with a lot to offer to both the business and the leisure traveller.
“With the launch of these flights, Singapore Airlines will be able to meet demand for these destinations from across our Asian and South Pacific network, while also expanding our presence in Europe to 12 gateways,” he said.
Best known to some for the prowess of their football teams, Milan and Barcelona are also major tourist destinations steeped in history, culture and style.
Milan is the financial and commercial centre of Italy. It is widely regarded as the world’s ‘capital of fashion’, and home to some of the industry’s best-known icons.
Its rich cultural heritage has produced some of the world’s most recognisable architectural landmarks such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Duomo, one of the world’s largest and most beautiful shopping malls and Gothic churches respectively.
The Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” is kept, is also in Milan. One of history’s most intriguing art pieces, the painting was also featured in Dan Brown’s best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code.
Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain and was the host city of the 1992 Olympic Games. It is the only city in the world to have nine UNESCO World Heritage buildings.
It is a cultural hotspot synonymous with the Pablo Picasso Museum, as well as Antoni Gaudi’s timeless architectural masterpieces like the La Sagrada Familia and the Guell Park.
Beyond Barcelona, these flights open a network into the rest of Spain. The country remains one of the world’s top tourist destinations, famous for its mix of history, culture, food and wine. Connections are easily available from Barcelona to other regional centres throughout Spain, as well as into neighbouring Portugal.
A special introductory fare of S$888* to both Milan and Barcelona, from Singapore, is available for customers who depart within the first two weeks, and book their tickets between now and 16 June 2006. For more details on this promotion, or other fares (including from other destinations), customers should visit singaporeair.com.
* Fare excludes taxes and surcharges and seat capacity is limited. Other terms and conditions apply and customers should check the website to understand all conditions before purchase.
Flights will depart Singapore in the evenings of every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arrive at Milan’s Malpensa Airport the next morning. From Milan, the flight will continue on to Barcelona’s El Prat Airport. Flights and schedules are subject to regulatory approvals.

MON MXP
TUE FCO
WED MXP
THU
FRI FCO, MXP
SAT
SUN FCO
Arrivi in Italia e partenze dall' Italia:
MON FCO
TUE MXP
WED FCO
THU MXP
FRI
SAT FCO, MXP
SUN
