The right wing Progress Party is now the nation's largest political party, with the support of 32.0 per cent of the electorate, according to the latest poll made by InFact for VG.

This is unchanged from August, and would have resulted in 58 seats in Parliament.

The Labour Party is supported by 28.5 per cent of the voters, up 0.9 point from the previous poll. Ths would have given the party 51 seats.

Latest poll: Drastic set-back for Labour
The support for Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg's Labour Party has dropped drastically in the wake of the debate around the sick pay scheme. Support for the party has now dropped by 4 points, to 24.5 per cent, according to the latest poll. This is nearly equal to the catatstrophic election results in 2001, of 24.3 per cent.

The poll for September, made for VG, shows that the right wing Progress Party now has the support of 35.5 per cent of the electorate, op 3.5 points from August.

The Conservative Party is supported by 16.4 per cent of those asked, up 2.3 points.

Labour's coalition partner, the Socialist Left is back to 6.5 per cent, down from 7.1 per cent in August.

The third coalition partner, the Agrarians, is up from 5.7 per cent, to 6.0 per cent.

The Christian People's Party is supported by 5.1 per cent, up from 4.7, while the Liberal Left drops from 4.1 per cent to 3.1 per cent.
