    President Gompers, of the American Federation of Labor, his the mark when he says that, fascism has no place in the United States. Doubtless he voices the sertlment of the great majority of organized labor in such expression. Those who know American labor know that it is proof against any foreign poison that would kill American principles.

    Rome, Dec. 1. -- Premier Mussolini, in a circular to local fascist executives of the various Italian towns, states that a revision of the party's moral, mental and political position is necessary. Although the premier deprecates attaching excessive importance to changes in public opinion, he sags that the impression made by recent incidents must be effaced.

    Paris, Aug. 1. -- The most important reaction to the present fascist reign of force has came from the Roman Catholic Church. The Pope has turned against fascism on account of its violence and the Vatican, through its official organ and other newspapers which Premier Mussolini is afraid to suppress, has delivered the hardest blow which the fascist dictatorship has suffered in the past year.

    Secrets of the Italian fascisti propaganda he says is at work in the United States were revealed in the House yesterday by Represen tative Rainey (Democrat), Illinois, as a preface to his demand for a congressional investigation. Denouncing the terms of the Italian debt settlement, Mr. Rainey launched an attack on fascism in Italy, charged that Premier Mussolini is extending an iron hand to cover Italians in the United States, and ended by warning the Republican majority that unless it initiated an investigation within three days he would put them on record by introducing a resolution directing the inquiry.

When he took over the secretaryship of the party, the opposition still was stormy. The Matteotti murder was far from buried, despite Mussolini's famous January third funeral oration.

    Rome, Jan. 20 (By A.P.). -- Warm approval of fascism as applied to the people of Italy was expressed today by Winston Churchill, British chancellor of the exchequer, in a statement given out to the newspaper correspondents. The chancellor, like Sir Austen Chamberlin, British foreign secretary, came to Rome to see for himself the achievements of fascism and confer with Premier Mussolini, the finance minister, Count Volpi, and other fascist statesmen.
