WITHIN 24 hours of the allegations of supplying arms, India has now been accused of ‘encroaching’ Nepal’s land near Susta in the southern part of Nawalparasi district. People at Dhanewa Rewa and Rauwaghola near Susta alleged that India recently built 63 huts at Dhanewa Rewa and 17 in the Rauwaghola area. “This is a threat to Nepal’s sovereignty,” Laila Begum, a leader of the Save Susta Campaign, said.
Begum claimed the Indians started tilling their land, a couple of months ago, and have now completed construction of the huts. While Revenue officials in Nawalparasi district claimed, the areas of Tribeni and Susta situated on the east of Narayani River, have been tense because of encroachment, in recent times.
Officials claimed that Indians had infiltrated into Nepal and burnt sugarcane fields. The administration of Nawalparasi district has been complaining that miscreants from Bihar sneak into Nepal’s territory, and terrorise the local people.
