Allarme: uccisi alcuni Tibetani nel passo di Nangpa, altri sono agli arresti.

È una grave situazione quella che si sta sviluppando al confine con il Nepal: alcuni Tibetani che stavano cercando d’espatriare (tra cui un folto numero di minorenni, di cui due fucilati) sono stati uccisi dall’esercito cinese. A lanciare l’allarme è la newsletter di Students for a Free Tibet, l’organizzazione internazionale che si batte per i diritti civili dei cittadini tibetani in Cina. Di seguito, il testo dell’e-mail che ho ricevuto.

Dear Federico Moretti,
Barely five weeks ago, on September 30th, Chinese border troops opened fire at a caravan of seventy-three Tibetans fleeing to Nepal through Nangpa Pass. Despite all the media attention and foreign diplomatic pressure, thirty-two Tibetans from the group, including fourteen children, are still missing and reported to have been detained by Chinese border forces. SFT is stepping up the campaign for their release and demanding an immediate end to the attacks by Chinese border patrol on Tibetan refugees.

Please take immediate action to pressure the Chinese government for their release.
