Questo stralcio di testo che incollo qui di seguito è stato scritto da una bambina di 12 anni nata e cresciuta a Londra, figlia di padre sardo e madre thailandese. Il suo compito era quello di creare un documento con immagini e testo, riguardante un paese Europeo. Lei ha scelto come paese la Sardegna, ecco una parte di ciò che ha scritto:
Sardinia is situated off the west coast of Italy. It is a very small island but it has got very beautiful places.
Food. There are a lot of types of Sardinian food. There is the Malloreddus, which, is a type of Sardinian pasta. Almost every Sardinian family knows how to make this type of pasta along with all the Sardinian dishes.
Sardinia is famous for its wine. Many Sardinians have their own vineyard, which grows grapes to make white and red wine. Cannonau is Sardinian red wine made from the cannonau grapes that only grows in Sardinia.

Many many years ago, the Sardinians used to live in a house made out of stone and mud. These buildings were called nuraghe and ever since these very old buildings are still standing all over Sardinia. The ancient Sardinians used to live in these houses and spoke the ancient Sardinian language

The Romans invaded Sardinia and they made Sardinia be part of Italy. Ever since the roman times Sardinia has been part of Italy. The Romans changed all the names of the towns and villages in Sardinia into Italian when they were originally Sardinian.
The first and only queen of Sardinia was Eleonora d’Arborea. She was Sardinia’s only queen and tried to save the island from the Spanish invasion. The Spanish invaded Sardinia. They built their own castles and most of them, along with the nuraghe are still standing but most of these Spanish castles are by the sea.
Sardinia is still part of Italy and now the Sardinians are fighting for their right to be Sardinia and not to be part of Italy.
