Cargoitalia launches direct Vietnam flights


Cargoitalia launched the first direct freighter link from Vietnam to Italy this month.

The service operates twice a week between Ho Chi Minh City and Cargoitalia’s home base in Milan with an MD-11F freighter. On the eastbound sector the planes stop in Dubai, while the return flights are routed over Dakka, Bangladesh.

"There is strong demand there to Europe and the US," said Alexander Moller, Cargoitalia's vice-president of sales for the Americas region.

Vietnam's commercial center is the Italian cargo airline's sixth Asian destination, following the start of twice weekly flights from Milan to Shanghai via Mumbai and Madras in February. It also flies to Dakka and Osaka.
