On 1/7/2007 Assistant Secretary General of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Abdullah al-Ahmar discussed with a delegation of the Democratic Korea Work party relations between the two parties and means of boosting them to serve cooperation between the two countries and friendly peoples .
The Korean party delegation is headed by Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations' Bureau at the party's Central Committee Kim Tai Jong.
Both sides reviewed situations in the region and latest developments in the Korean peninsula in addition to the standing challenges in front of them due to hegemony and aggression policies which pose a threat to the security and stability in both areas and the world.
Al-Ahmar stressed Syria's appreciation of the Democratic Korea support to Syria's right to restore the whole occupied Golan and achieve the just and comprehensive peace in line with international legitimacy resolutions.
He asserted Syria's standing by the Palestinian people to end the Israeli occupation and restore their legitimate rights, indicating to Syria's support to the political process in Iraq and necessity of Iraqis' right of self- determination without any foreign interference.
Al-Ahmar noted to the modernization and development process, led by President Bashar al-Assad, to boost its position in the region and the world.
For his part, Jong expressed appreciation of the occurring achievements in Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad, asserting his country's support to Syria's rights in restoring the occupied Golan.
Later , Director of the Foreign Relations' at the Regional Leadership of the party Mohammad Yasminah and Democratic Korea Ambassador Kim Pyong Nam signed a cooperation agreement on boosting ties between the two parties and enhancing friendship relations between the two countries and peoples.
