British Airways torna a GOA

A 3 anni dalla chiusura del volo (26 marzo 2005), BA riproporrà il collegamento GOA-LGW dal 4 aprile 2008. La rotta sarà operata con B737, giornaliera d'estate e 4xweek d'inverno.
GOA si aggiunge quindi a TRN, MXP, LIN, VRN, BLQ, PSA, FCO, NAP, BRI, CAG, CTA tutti scali collegati in Italia da BA.

Decisione spinta anche dal boom crocieristico sul porto ligure

Dal prossimo 4 aprile 2008 British Airways introdurrà un nuovo servizio giornaliero da Genova a Londra Gatwick. "La decisione risponde alla crescente domanda da parte dei passeggeri della regione ed al successo del settore crocieristico nel Mediterraneo che ha portato ad un incremento dell’offerta in partenza dall’area genovese", spiega una nota della compagnia.
La tratta sarà operata con Boeing 737 in due classi di servizio: Club Europe, la business class sulle tratte europee e Euro Traveller, la classe economica.
Durante i mesi invernali, British Airways continuerà ad operare 4 servizi settimanali tra Genova e Londra Gatwick.

Summer 2008 network changes

British Airways' summer 2008 route network focuses on increased US flights from Heathrow following the EU-US "Open Skies " aviation treaty which comes in to effect in March 2008.
The airline's daily flight to Dallas Fort Worth and double daily flights to Houston will move from Gatwick to Heathrow airport from March 30, 2008. In addition, the airline will increase frequencies from Heathrow to New York JFK, Seattle and Washington and from Gatwick to Orlando.
In order to accommodate these changes, the airline is suspending flights between Heathrow and Detroit from March 30, 2008.
Flights to Algiers that currently operate from Gatwick will move to Heathrow to ensure that the airline's oil and gas destinations in North Africa and the US are still linked through the same airport. Warsaw flights will move from Heathrow to Gatwick. Both changes are effective from March 30, 2008.
In addition, there will be a new shorthaul route from Gatwick to Genoa in Italy starting on April 4, 2008 with daily flights.

The airline is also making a change to its network for the winter 2007 season. From October 28, 2007, passengers travelling from Heathrow to Harare with British Airways will be routed via Johannesburg and then on to Harare with our franchise partner Comair. Direct services to Harare from Heathrow will be suspended from the same date.
Robert Boyle, British Airways' commercial director, said: "We're taking advantage of the opportunities provided by Open Skies to further enhance our market leading network from London to the United States. Next summer, we will offer our customers 41 daily flights to 18 destinations across the US."


British Airways operates a daily service to Detroit and three flights per week to Harare.
The increased frequencies to US destinations are as follows:
· Heathrow to New York JFK up from 51 to 55 flights per week.
· Heathrow to Seattle up from 10 to 13 flights per week.
· Heathrow to Washington up from 21 to 24 flights per week.
· Gatwick to Orlando up from 7 to 10 flights per week.
Three of the 10 Boeing 777 aircraft based at Gatwick will move to Heathrow to operate the Dallas and Houston services.
