Per la serie il mondo è impazzito: Montenegro, Bulgaria ed UNIONE EUROPEA!!!!!

The EU presidency urged Bulgaria on Friday not to block an agreement to take Montenegro closer to EU membership over a row on how to spell the name of the European currency in Bulgarian.
Bulgaria has held up approval of the signing of a Stabilisation and Association Agreement, the first step on the road towards eventual EU membership, with Montenegro next Monday to demand the right to call the currency "evro" instead of euro.
"Evro" is the name long used by Bulgarians, who pronounce Europe as "Evropa".
EU rotating president Portugal appealed to Bulgaria to allow the agreement to be signed and leave a decision on the spelling of the currency for later, a Portuguese official said.
"Either we solve the problem today or we don't sign the agreement. It's as simple as that," he told a news briefing.
"We cannot invite someone to sign then at the last minute say 'sorry, we can't go ahead please go home -- it's rude'.
"A minimum amount of courtesy requires us to prepare things properly. I can't have the prime minister of Montenegro here and say I can't do anything except take him out for a coffee.
"Let's not make the Montenegrins hostage to this discussion," he said.
European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn told Reuters on Thursday he was very concerned at the delay, saying the Bulgarian stance was "regrettable."

Già di per sè è una notizia ridicola, ma il commento di Rehn è il massimo dell'understatement...

    Al ridicolo non c'è fine...

The European Union pledged on Monday to solve quickly a dispute over the spelling of its common currency in Bulgarian, clearing the way for the signing of an agreement on closer ties with Montenegro, diplomats said.

Sofia had threatened to delay the signature in its battle for the right to use the Bulgarian name "evro" for the euro in its Cyrillic alphabet, despite resistance from the European Central Bank.
At a dawn meeting in Luxembourg, EU ambassadors approved a declaration recognising the existence of a "linguistic-technical problem" and vowing to solve it as soon as possible, in line with a 1995 summit decision on the currency's name.
"The declaration was approved without discussion and without reservations," a Bulgarian spokeswoman said.
Diplomats said the text was sufficient for Sofia to allow the signing of a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Montenegro, the most recent independent state to emerge from the former Yugoslavia after it broke with Serbia last year.
But Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev would make clear at a summit later this week that Bulgaria will not sign an EU reform treaty in December unless it obtains satisfaction on the "evro" by then, they said.
