Recently a entry on a blog of an Italian black politician heavily insulting Italians to be racist, dirty and undeveloped has explode as a national controversy.
Below is the text translated from Italian.

"You would never figure out how hard is for me trying to write this without harming your white poor sensibility, completely ignorant about your past as executioner of blacks, jews and muslims.

I dont give a shit about “italians are good people.I have to say,i dont give a shit about white and cristian italians”,which are of course good people.

Able to gather signs to protest against somebody or something and then to deny it once again by your daily attitude. You don’t have a middle-class, you are just a painful and tin-pot class, uncivilized and savage. The most sold newspaper are those who talks about “gossips” and the most viewed tv shows are these reality shows realized thanks to the average Italian family which sells their own daughters as livestock or cows .

You have applauded any dictators and undersigned any massacre in order to forget it immediately after and claming to be the victims of an elite. You don’t have any elite, you assholes: come to terms with it! Your deputies and senators are the same pile of shit as you are, your business leader are jobcentre’s losers plans but they either had good family connection or they just sold their asses better then you did....

sure she got balls but not enough guts to see things from a different angle,like Terzani did. He was shocked as much as Oriana if not more:that´s why he gave up his meditative isolation on the Himalaya mountains to go back europe,he felt thats somenthing had to be done.

Later on he went to Afganistan, Pakistan and all those breeding grounds to try to understand(not justify or morally support) their reason,because: nobody attack you without a motive,nobody wants to die.
He wrote a book about those trips which was not pubblished in US because nobody did dare to pubblish....

it was the time of "the war on terror" "amrica under attack" ,because the bad and the good has been already defined and nodbody should questioning it.

But this manicheism, promoted by a part of american politics and some european dogs to divide the world in black and white will lead us just to our doom.
The problems are complex and you cant figth terrorism, which is not bound to a nation but to an ideology, with weapons,you will lose.Did we win?Where is Osama?Where are the talibans?...and so on...

I have to agree that Tiziano Terzani was a great man despite his mistaken communist views. I admired him and did read his book on the Vietnam war many years ago. It's a shame that the book you mention hasn't been published in the U.S.

The West has to defend itself. Have you ever been to Amalfi? There is a cathedral there (I forget the name).
