Gli infallibili Tomahawk

Al minuto 3.06 si puo notare come il Pentagono abbia sviluppato varie tipi di spoletta che possono esplodere o non esplodere una volta che l'arma perfora un bunker, in questo caso sono state installate sulle bombe Small Diameter.

Credo che alcuni dei Tomahawk non siano esplosi per evitare vittime e distruzioni eccessive.

Pentagon officials say all 59 Raytheon-built Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles fired against a Syria’s Shayrat airfield on April 7 reached their intended targets and the 60th was waved off. One missile failed, but another was launched in its place.
A surface-to-air missile site, radar and about 20 aircraft plus various ammunition bunkers and suspected chemical weapon storage facilities were damaged or destroyed in the attack.

That is the assessment of the U.S. Defense Department. Speaking to the media at the Pentagon, two officials involved in the mission who declined to be named said the late-night naval strike was executed with 100% accuracy. “We’re very positive that 59 missiles hit,” they said.

Their remarks and photographic evidence appear to debunk claims by the Russian Ministry of Defense that just 23 of the 59 cruise missiles reached the base and only destroyed six MiG-23s in a repair hangar and radar site. “The combat effectiveness of the massive American missile strike on the Syrian airbase is extremely low,” the Russian ministry claims.

I russi cercano di minimizzare, certo non si puo paragonare un BGM-109E BLOCK IV con quelle ciofeche che sono i Kalibir.....il Tomahawk nelle ultime versioni puo essere "ri-diretto" in volo aggiornando il target e colpire bersagli in movimento....qui un test contro una nave in navigazione.

Il pentagono parla di base completamnete distrutta, SAM distrutti, 20 aerei inceneriti ecc.. ecc..
Pare abbiano distrutto 6 aerei fuori uso usati come ricambi, un radar, e poco altro, la base e' pienamente operativa, un bel successo.

La VERA storia del Tomahawk:



The failure of the Tomahawk is hardly surprising, because it has failed us every time we've used it it will fail us again the next time, too;

In Operation Desert Storm in 1991, 300 Tomahawks were launched at Iraq; 12 fell into the sea, half went off-course and never reached their target, some were shot-down by Iraqi air defenses, and most that his hard targets failed to destroy them as promised.

In Operation Deliberate Force in 1995, it took 13 Tomahawks to destroy a single command post, and this was the only use of the Tomahawk in that war due to it's cost and scarcity.

Another 75 were launched into Sudan and Afghanistan in 1998, in retaliation to Al Qaeda's bombings of US embassies. The targets in Sudan alleged to be chemical weapons factories turned out to be a medicine factory, while the Al Qaeda leadership the Afghan strike was meant to kill had left the targeted training camp only minutes before the missiles arrived. More Tomahawks went off-course, and several that failed to detonate were captured virtually undamaged.

330 Tomahawks were launched during Operation Desert Fox in December of 1998. Again, they landed all over the place --- one landed in a
neighborhood in the Al-Kadhimiah of Baghdad, killing 27 civilians
and wounding 37 more. That missile landed miles from it's intended target.

318 were launched as part of Operation Allied Farce (it was NATO that spelled it wrong, not me) in 1999. Again, tons of them went off-course, failed to explode, and some may have been shot-down. Three of them hit the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, and every Tomahawk in the entire US European inventory was expended.

50 Tomahawks were launched into Afghanistan in 2001, deliberately aimed at such valid military targets as the UN de-mining headquarters for Afghanistan, and a shortwave radio tower that had been inoperable for a decade.

A whopping 802 Tomahawks were launched in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, but contrary to promises that guidance systems improvements would make the Tomahawk more accurate (integrated throughout the 1990s, in the fallout from the GAO's findings from Desert Storm), their accuracy was even worse. Now they were not only landing in the wrong areas, but the wrong *countries* Tomahawk impacts were confirmed inside Turkey, Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

Stando agli analisti, 44 centri individuali ed alcuni doppi, 58 in tutto.
Le piste non erano fra gli obbiettivi , e con l avviso sono stati rimossi assets ed ovviamente personale.

a parte circoletti e freccette che non dimostrano nulla, distruggere le piste di una base aerea è il fondamento strategico dl un attacco per metterla fuori uso, trump evidentemente ha cambiato le strategie militari aeronautiche degli ultimi 80 anni..

Amati, Paul, mettetevi d'accordo. Hanno colpito tutti o qualcuno non ha attivato la spoletta?

Comunque che parte dei missili non arrivi a bersaglio fa parte del gioco delle parti. Anche gli USA sostennero che parte dei missili kaliber lanciati nel 2015 era caduto in volo.

Hanno azionato il "grilletto" 61 volte, un missile si e' rifiutato di partire (i famosi missili intelligenti?) visto che hanno dichiarato che tutti hanno colpito l'obbiettivo, in questo caso l'obbiettivo era il tubo lanciamissile della nave?.

Uno si e' inabissato poco dopo la partenza, l'obbiettivo era una onda del mare?.
