All India Co-ordination Committee of CPI (ML) AND CPI (ML) Red Flag
11 August 2003
Today the working class and oppressed peoples in India and the world are confronting unprecedented challenges. The imperialists and their lackeys are gleefully celebrating the ‘demise of socialism’. US imperialism, throwing to the wind all international laws and norms and the UN charter, has invaded and occupied Iraq. It is threatening Iran, Syria, North Korea, and other countries of similar invasion if they do not fall in line with US dictates. Entire world is threatened with the doctrine of pre-emptive strikes to impose US hegemony.
In India, BJP led NDA Government is going all out in pursuing the policies of imperialist dictated globalisation introduced by the Congress Govt. in 1991. It has gone a long way in proving its shameless, traitorous subservience to imperialism in general and US imperialism in particular. The ongoing onslaught on the vast masses of our people by the Indian rulers is only a consequence of it. These policies are reducing the vast majority of our people to devastation, throwing out workers through closures, peasants out of lands and into pauperisation and subjecting women, dalits, adivasis and other vulnerable sections and classes to ever intensifying atrocities and attacks. The basic democratic rights of people are under never ending attacks by executive, police and judiciary. This situation has become even more dangerous through fascist method of belligerent Hindu fundamentalism pursued by Sangh Parivar with the connivance of the state machinery. The Prime Minister Vajpayee is further stoking the communal fire through his declarations that Ram temple will be built at Ayodhya at any cost. Neither Congress nor any other opposition parties are prepared to challenge the Vajpayee government and Sangh Parivar. They are implementing globalisation wherever they are in power. They are pursuing ‘Soft Hindutva’ and casteist policies for vote-banks. As far as the so-called left front led by CPI(M) is concerned, it is also implementing the globalisation policies under cover of progressive jargons. They are joining the band wagon of Congress in the name of defeating communal BJP. They have abandoned even ‘third alternative’ like slogans.
The situation is, therefore, very critical and complex. And the need of the hour is to mobilise and organise the people to build up massive struggles for a people’s alternative based on anti-imperialist, democratic and secular programme.
It is with this objective, COI(ML) and CPI(ML) UI merged into one Organisation namely CPI(ML) and thereafter the CPI(ML) and CPI(ML) Red Flag formed an All India Co-ordination Committee taking active steps towards merger into a single organisation to be culminated through a unity conference as early as possible and carry forward the task of building up a Communist Party under the banner of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tsetung Thought.
It is at this cross roads of history the Co-ordination Committee calls upon all the communist revolutionary forces to rise up to the occasion and unite to carry forward the task of building the party to make the peoples urge and struggle to free themselves from the shackles of imperialism and feudalism, and build a new democratic and prosperous India.
