ELFAA, The European Low Fares Airlines Association
www.elfaa.org riporto qualcosa di interessante (in inglese, sorry)
perché nasce?
Historically the traditional flag carrier and charter airlines have been strongly represented in Brussels and other decision-making fora but the low fares airlines, a relatively new but fast growing sector of the industry, has not been represented and its needs and also those of its customers were not protected as a result.
Towards the end of 2002 certain low fare airlines realised that the needs of the low fare sector were not being represented in decisions being taken on particular legislation and quickly joined forces to lobby for changes to protect their interests and the interests of their customers. It became clear that there was urgent need for greater presence and influence from low fare airlines across Europe on an ongoing basis, something which could best be addressed by the setting up of a more formal but highly effective group to tackle various issues of joint interest and to ensure the continued development of the low fare sector. Various bodies including the European Commission, European Council, European Parliament and Eurocontrol have also expressed the utility of having low fare airlines' views expressed through an European industry group. ELFAA was therefore established towards the end of 2003, as a non-profit making organisation, to represent and protect the needs of low fare airlines and their customers.
mission statement:
