The late and much-missed Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan wrote a groundbreaking paper back in the 1960s about the alleged weakness of the often female headed African American families. He described a culture of loose morals and indulgent self-destructive behavior which was lowering and even destroying standards for the culture at large. This 'defining deviancy down' can be seen clearly in the evolution-- or devolution-- of our family law system, where all fathers risk being prejudged in a process of 'overcorrection' ostensibly 'inspired' by physically abusive men of the minority underclass, often alcoholics or drug addicts who physically savaged women and abandoned their children. Some unkind and 'racist' commentators have called this NeoMarxist Gramscian process 'nigrification'.
