RYANAIR TO REVIEW TWICE-DAILY LONDON-NEWQUAY ROUTE AFTER CORNWALL COUNTY COUNCIL ADDS £5 "ANTI-TOURIST" SURCHARGE AT NEWQUAY
Ryanair Europe’s No.1 low fares airline today (10th August) criticised Cornwall County Council’s planned £5 surcharge on passengers using Newquay airport.
Michael Cawley, Deputy CEO of Ryanair said:
“Cornwall County Council is clearly determined to drive visitors out of Cornwall by applying a £5 charge on all passengers This is a highly price sensitive market where the average fare is £25. Ryanair passengers have a choice of 85 low fare destinations from London Stansted and will simply vote with their feet choosing, France, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Scotland ahead of Cornwall. This decision will damage Cornish tourism and business and make Cornwall the laughing stock of Europe. Ryanair is now reviewing its position on the twice daily London Newquay service that delivers 200,000 passengers annually"
Ecco per la cronaca i dati ufficiali CAA sulla rotta STN-NYQ:
