I don't know how to say "to hit the brandy" in Italian. Basically, "bere."

how silly of me!! orujo is something like grappa and now that you said it ... they also say pegarle la oreja meaning to oversleep...

"Pegarle la oreja" is a different expression, meaning "to listen carefully."

I think the expression you're looking for is "pegarse las sabanas," which means "to sleep in." I think "planchar la oreja" is mostly used to mean "to sleep," as in "me voy a planchar la oreja."

Christine is quite right; there's no exact match in Italian for a phrase like "to hit xxxx".
"Bere"(to drink), could be safely used, but has not the same meaning.

Si,specialmente "darci sotto con" = " To hit",
o.. "pegar" en espanol.
Ma ce no sono tante altre.
Ci sono quantita' di espressioni idiomatiche o anche dialettali italiane che traducono queste espressioni.
Basta saperle usare e riconoscerle

Specialmente considerando il fatto che noi,in italiano facciamo ancora piu' uso di queste varie espressioni idiomatiche ed anche dialettali,"idioms",in inglese,espressioni non traducibili parola per parola, degli americani o degli hispano americani.
Senza dubbio.
Basta sapere che le si usa e saper riconoscerle.
L'italiano e'la lingua che conosco che fa' piu' uso ed anche il piu' variato di queste espressioni idiomatiche.
