Crimean voters: 61% against NATO, 64% against Yushchenko
Center for Sociological and Marketing Research SOCIUM conducted a social political poll in Crimea, Ukraine in January 2006. 1500 citizens of Crimean participated in the poll, the sampling represents voters according to gender, age and social statues. Main results are as follows:
67% of Crimean citizens plan to participate in the parliamentary and local elections in March 2006. 17% think that these elections will be fair, 39% — unfair, and 54% found difficult to respond. Most of Crimean citizens will vote for the Regions Party (29.5%), then the Communist Party (9%), the Social Democratic Party (3.5). Block of
Yulia Timoshenko will receive only
1.5%, “Our Ukraine” — 1%.
According to the respondents, most influence on the elections will have: oligarchs (23%), voters (19%), administrative resource (15%), US (7%), Russia (5.5%), president
Yushchenko (
3.5%)
12% of the respondents partially or completely support Viktor Yushchenko, 64% do not support. 17% support Ukraine joining NATO, 61% do not support. 26% support joining EU, 47% do not support. 79% support the idea of Ukraine joining the United Economic Space with Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan, 9% do not support.
The idea of dual citizenship is popular among 71% of respondents, 14% do not support it.
