BEIRUT - Le navi da guerra israeliane che incrociano al largo di Beirut questa sera hanno bombardato la periferia meridionale della capitale libanese, provocando vittime secondo alcune fonti.
Stando all'agenzia di stampa libanese NNA, il bilancio ancora provvisorio del bombardamento è di 10 morti e 30 feriti. Anche l'emittente LBC in precedenza aveva affermato che "ci sono vittime". Dal canto suo, l'emittente TV al Arabiya ha riferito che il bombardamento israeliano ha provocato il crollo di un edificio al cui interno si trovavano sette famiglie.

An immediate enquiry began into Hajj’s other work. It found on Monday that a second photograph, of an Israeli F-16 fighter over Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon and dated Aug 2, had been doctored to increase the number of flares dropped by the plane from one to three. The caption also misidentified the objects as missiles rather than flares, which warplanes release as a defensive measure.


Szlukovenyi said the mere fact that Hajj had altered two of his photographs meant none of his work for Reuters could be trusted either by the news service or its users.
