Korean Air launched its services to the Austrian city of Vienna yesterday.
The carrier now flies a 260-seat plane to the city three times a week _ on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Vienna, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, is located between Eastern Europe and Western Europe. As an important city for Europe’s economy, culture and traffic, many international organizations are located there.
Travelers will now be able to more easily access Vienna’s numerous cultural assets and travel destinations, including Stephansdom Cathedral; Hofburg, the royal palace; Wiener Staatsoper, an opera house; and Spanisch Reitschule, a Spanish horse riding school.
This year the city will hold many events to mark the 250th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birth.
The flight service is also expected to serve Korean business people as many Korean companies have set up factories in Eastern Europe. They have had difficulty getting to the region because previously there was only one route between Korea and Eastern Europe _ Korean Air’s operation to Prague.
Travelers will be able to arrange tours linking Prague and Vienna.
The airline is also operating seven weekly cargo flights to the city.

South Korea's largest carrier said it will operate Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the route, with the flights leaving Incheon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
'The new Vienna route, coupled with the existing seven times a week cargo service to Vienna and popular passenger services to Prague, is expected to improve convenience for Korean passengers and Korean firms,' a Korean Air official said.
Korean Air said it initially plans to operate the flight until Oct 27 and then review its commercial viability.
