Io ad esempio decisi di approfondire lo studio dell'informale materico e dell'informale gestuale subito dopo aver visto alcune opere di Alberto Burri, pittore che non avevo mai sentito nominare prima. All'epoca ero ragazzino e non avevo mai letto nulla della Storia dell'Arte dal secondo dopoguerra ad oggi, non avevo idea di cosa volesse dire l'autore con quelle opere e in realtà mentre le guardavo neanche mi importava saperlo perché ero totalmente rapito dalla loro potenza espressiva. Quelle combustioni agirono in me sul piano emotivo; soltanto successivamente decisi di approfondire la cosa anche dal punto di vista intellettivo...senza la spinta di nessun "ammaestratore" ma per istinto e attrazione. Probabilmente per te è inconcepibile apprezzare un quadro di Burri, io invece fatico a capire come possa trasmettere sdegno (specialmente se ammirato dal vivo).
