Sarà....però il FT scrive:
OBSERVER: Berlusconi, all revved up
Financial Times; Dec 05, 2002
Even by his standards, Silvio Berlusconi's tirade against Fiat's management was quite something. Accusing them, in essence, of being a bunch of incompetents, he suggested he could do a better job himself if he were not so busy being prime minister, statesman and so on.
Observer particularly liked his idea that all Fiat cars should, in future, be sold as Ferraris or Alfa Romeos, and "we should wipe out the Fiat brand".
But as is often the case with Berlusconi, there may well be method in his madness. Even business people and financiers in Turin, Fiat's home town, say privately that Berlusconi's criticisms, though colourful, hit the nail on the head. Some would go further and happily see Paolo Fresco, Fiat's chairman, kicked out, as Berlusconi doubtless knows.
None of which, of course, impresses the Agnelli family, Fiat's founding dynasty. As Susanna Agnelli, 80, sister of Gianni Agnelli, puts it: "I don't want to talk about how Berlusconi might run the business. We already have enough to talk about."
