    ROUGH RIDE AHEAD
Of the 11 flyovers that HT visited on Thursday, at least five were in bad shape. While some had huge potholes, leading to traffic jams, others weren’t level. Interlocking tiles in some cases had sunk, while in others, the tar surface had eroded completely

Over R.K. Studio junction at Anushakti Nagar on Sion-Trombay Road PROBLEMS: First developed problems in February 2004, when a metre-long slab collapsed. Deterioration due to use by heavy vehicles was blamed. Flyover still closed for heavy vehicles. Opened in 2000, it was built in 14 months and was part of Mumbai Traffic Improvement Mega Project. LENGTH: 667 metres COST: Rs 10.6 crore OUR ENGINEERS SUPERVISE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FLYOVER WHEN IT IS BEING BUILT. WE ALSO CARRY OUT ALL NECESSARY CONTROL CHECKS. PROBLEMS: The flyover is being widened and one lane is being used for two-way traffic.
