PARIS, France (AFP) — A prominent Iranian pop singer who made a song urging women to remove their headscarves said Wednesday that he was willing to pay “a price for freedom” after being flogged 74 times by the authorities as part of his sentence.
Mehdi Yarrahi, arrested in 2023, was released last year after being convicted for his song in support of the “Woman. Life. Freedom” protests that erupted in 2022 and rocked Iran’s clerical leadership.
“Today, the final part of the verdict issued by the Revolutionary Court — 74 lashes — was fully and completely implemented at branch 4 of the office for enforcement of judgements of the Tehran moral security prosecutor,” his lawyer Zahra Minouei wrote on X.
“The case was closed,” she added.
In a defiant subsequent post, Yarrahi added: “The person who is not willing to pay a price for freedom, is not worthy of freedom.”

Yarrahi was arrested in August 2023 for releasing what the authorities termed an “illegal song”, namely the track “Roosarito” (“Your Headscarf” in Persian) and voiced support for women’s right to remove the garment that must be worn in public in the Islamic republic.
The implementation of his sentence sparked uproar among supporters.
Taraneh Alidoosti, an actor who was arrested during the protest movement after she posed without a headscarf, said on Instagram in response to the flogging: “Shame on backwardness, shame on torture, shame on violence, shame on anti-human laws, and shame and disgrace on our helplessness.”
Nobel peace prize laureate Narges Mohammadi, on temporary release from a prison sentence, said in a statement the flogging was “retaliation” for Yarrahi’s support of women in Iran.
“The lashes on Mehdi’s body are a whip against the proud and resilient women of Iran and the thriving, powerful spirit of the ‘Woman. Life. Freedom’ movement,” she said.
Iran’s sharia law provides for flogging sentences that are frequently handed out by judges, though far from always implemented.

The Home Office last night refused to say whether they were aware of Wadee's militant background or whether he was free to roam the streets. Kent Police said they were unaware of any arrests related to the case.

On Saturday evening, at around 6 p.m., three Syrians (19, 20, 21) spat on photos and candles for hostages of Hamas and killed Israeli soldiers placed on the ground in the area of the Jewish Museum at Sankt-Jakobs- Square, as the police reported on Sunday. They also made ‘verbally aggressive’ comments.
Two security guards noticed the outrageous incident and tried to detain the three aggressive men, who live in Austria.
The 19-year-old then kicked one of the two security guards with his leg and pulled out a knife.
The security staff therefore threatened to use their firearms. Police officers on the scene, who had become aware of the situation, also threatened to use their firearms.
Finally, the 19-year-old dropped the knife.
The three Syrians were provisionally arrested. They are now being investigated for threatening behaviour, assault, insult and defamation of the memory of deceased persons
The police were deployed in large numbers. According to reports, nobody was injured.

CREMONA - Dal Pronto soccorso è uscito alle sette di sera con il referto: «Algia facciale posto traumatico. 5 giorni e non idoneo all’attività lavorativa per due giorni». A mandarlo in ospedale sono state due ragazze sui 17 anni che viaggiavano sul bus della linea G, linea extraurbana: Cremona-Spinadesco, andata e ritorno, 25 fermate. Le due giovani hanno preso a spintoni e aggredito il conducente, 52 anni, da agosto scorso dipendente di Arriva Italia (in passato ha lavorato per un’altra società di trasporti). Spintoni, graffi in faccia e occhiali rotti.
La violenza è storia delle 13.20 di oggi, nel martedì grasso con gli studenti a casa: sul bus qualche ragazza e persone adulte.
Com’è andata, lo racconta l’autista ferito. «Stavo viaggiando verso Spinadesco, quando in fondo all’autobus ho sentito iniziare a urlare. Urlavano forte. Erano delle ragazze. Dallo specchietto retrovisore ho visto. Il tutto è nato perché le due ragazze straniere se l’erano presa con una giovane italiana che stava mangiando un panino. Parolacce. ‘P... non puoi mangiare, c’è il Ramadan’. Le hanno dato uno schiaffo».
Alcune signore in fondo al bus si sono messe a urlare: «Autista! Autista, si stanno picchiando, si fermi!». Il conducente ha arrestato la corsa in via Milano, alla fermata «dove c’è la Caema». Erano le 13.20. «Quando mi sono fermato, ho aperto tutte le porte, mi sono alzato in piedi e mi sono messo a urlare: ‘Scendete dall’autobus, cosa state facendo’. E, invece, loro andavano avanti a litigare. Ho visto che in quel momento davano uno schiaffone alla ragazza italiana. Ho chiamato subito i carabinieri che sono arrivato subito, nel giro di un paio di minuti».
Le ragazze straniere sono poi scappate, «ma prima di scappare, si sono avventate contro di me. Io ero sceso. È scesa anche una delle due ragazze, all’altra ho detto: ‘Scendi anche tu. Scendi’. Mi sono messo anch’io ad urlare». E quando la giovane è saltata giù dal pullman, «mi ha dato uno spintone alla pancia. Anche l’altra si è poi messa a spingermi, mi ha rotto gli occhiali, mi ha graffiato la faccia». C’erano passeggeri, sul bus. Il conducente malconcio ha proseguito la corsa. Ha viaggiato verso Spinadesco e ritorno al piazzale dell’autostazione. Erano le due del pomeriggio, un collega lo ha sostituito e lui si è recato al Pronto soccorso.
Domani l’autista farà denuncia ai carabinieri, allegherà il referto medico. «Anche la ragazza presa a schiaffi aveva un bel segno sulla faccia. Penso che anche lei abbia fatto denuncia».
Sette e un quarto della sera. L’autista ha appena lasciato l’ospedale Maggiore. Al Pronto soccorso gli hanno fatto anche una Tac «perché mi ero gonfiato sotto l’occhio. Adesso un pochino il gonfiore è sceso». Spiega che «una cosa così non mi era mai accaduta. Sono andato vicino a prenderle, ma così mai. Sono sempre loro, minorenni e, spiace dirlo, ma è la verità, extracomunitari».
Il conducente racconta dell’altro episodio che gli è capitato circa un mese e mezzo fa. «I soliti minorenni erano sul bus. Dal niente, mi insultavano: ‘Bastardo, parti, ti spacco la faccia’. Ho chiamato la polizia. Gli agenti sono arrivati, hanno portato via quei ragazzini, ma poi, dopo un po’ sempre quelli sono tornati. Se fossi uno grosso, magari potrei anche mettere paura, e invece». Invece? «Sono mingherlino. Peso 60 chili con le scarpe antinfortunistica, per 1 metro e 70 di altezza».
Gli autisti tornano a chiedere - a gran voce - sicurezza sui bus. Quanto accaduto oggi, è «l’ennesimo episodio di violenza» denunciato da autisti che quasi ogni giorno sono sulle barricate.

On TikTok, the Pakistani man states: “I, as a Pakistani Muslim, demand that blasphemer the President of Holland, anyone who will behead him, he will get 5 Million rupees in ‘Hadiya’.” He further explains, “Hadiya is Islamic money given for Islamic deeds to reward them from Doctor” (touching himself to indicate he is the doctor) “& Muruk Ali will give 200K, and total 5.2 million.” He then escalates the call to jihad: “I request all Muslims in Holland to behead him & show your love to your beloved prophet Mohammed & tell the whole world that we can sacrifice our lives for Prophet Mohammed & can behead blasphemers. We have to make a video on this and make it viral & reach to Holland & please share this video and repost it.”
This direct incitement to murder, spread across social media, proves once again that the Islamic threat to Wilders—and by extension, to Western civilization—has not abated. Instead, it is being amplified on digital platforms, reaching millions of potential jihadists. Another Pakistani, Muruk Ali, added 200,000 rupees to the bounty, further incentivizing Muslims in the Netherlands to commit Islamic violence.
The Unending Islamic Threat Against Wilders
For twenty years, Wilders has lived under the shadow of Islamic death threats, forced into a life of extreme security while merely exercising his right to free speech. Unlike the spineless politicians who enable Islamic migration while hiding behind their security details, Wilders refuses to surrender to the intimidation of jihadists.
The list of Muslims inciting his murder is extensive. Several Pakistani nationals have already been convicted in the Netherlands for calling on fellow believers to kill him. In September 2024, two Pakistani men were tried in absentia for issuing a fatwa against Wilders—one of them, Muhammed Ashraf Asif Jalali, called for Wilders to be killed, hanged, and beheaded, declaring that the fatwa was “irrevocable” and that it “applies forever.”
These threats are not empty. In 2018, a Pakistani national, Junaid Iqbal, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for planning a terrorist attack against Wilders. That same year, another Pakistani, former cricket player Khalid Latif, was sentenced to 12 years for placing a bounty on Wilders’ head. Despite these convictions, the threats never cease. Fatwas never go away. Look at Salman Rushdie—decades after the first fatwa, they still came for him.
The Complicity of Western Governments and Media Silence
Instead of acknowledging the reality of the Islamic threat, Western governments and media remain complicit. The Dutch political establishment has failed to protect its own people, allowing radical Islamic networks to flourish within the country. Meanwhile, leftist journalists continue their cowardly dance around the truth, refusing to report honestly on Islamic extremism because it contradicts their globalist, pro-mass migration agenda.
Had a Dutch politician openly called for the execution of a Muslim, they would be arrested immediately, condemned across every media outlet, and permanently banned from social platforms. But when a Muslim calls for Wilders’ beheading? Silence. The blatant hypocrisy is sickening.
The Battle for the Netherlands—and the West
Wilders’ fight is not just his own. It is the fight of every Dutch citizen, every European, and every Westerner who values free speech and democracy. He has sacrificed twenty years of his life under armed guard, living in constant danger, because he refuses to bow to Islamic intimidation. Meanwhile, the very leaders who should be defending him are the ones aiding the invasion of Europe with millions of hostile migrants who do not share Western values.
These threats are not just about Wilders. They are about the Netherlands itself—whether it will remain a free nation or submit to the rule of Islam. Will the Dutch people allow their future to be dictated by Pakistani radicals issuing death threats from overseas? Will they continue electing politicians who do nothing to stop this Islamic infiltration?
Geert Wilders has stood strong for decades. It’s time for the Netherlands to stand with him. The Dutch government must act decisively: shut down Islamic networks, deport those who incite violence, and hold accountable the platforms that allow Islamic deadly fatwas to spread. Anything less is a surrender to the enemy within.
